Ever wish you could make your gift go further? You can today if your employer is one of the many that will match their employee contributions to CHATS.

By taking advantage of your company's matching gift program, you can generate an additional gift that may double or triple your own contribution without any further obligation from you!

If you are a current full time employee, director on a board, permanent part-time employee, retiree, or the spouse or widow(er) of an employee or retiree at a participating company who has a matching gift program, then you could double the impact of your gift!

Double your donation by following these easy steps!

1. Contact your employer's personnel or human resources office to determine if they participate in a matching gift program. If they participate, obtain a matching gift form and donation guideline.
2. Fill in the Employee section of the form and send it to the address below along with your donation. If you made your gift on-line, simply complete the form and mail it to:

3. We will complete the form and forward it to your employer's matching gift office for processing. Your company will send its matching donation directly to CHATS Development Department.

Tips on matching gifts

1. Any company will match personal gifts such as cash, stocks and securities.
2. Some companies offer double or triple matches.
3. Some companies do not have a Matching Gift program, but will still match your donation if you ask. Don't be afraid to ask your employer for the matching gift.
4. Talk to your colleagues, friends and suppliers about how they can increase their giving with an employee matching gift. Tell them to visit CHATS Matching Gift program on-line at www.chats.on.ca.
5. Some companies disburse matching gifts on a quarterly or yearly basis. To reduce administrative costs, the Development Department will not forward notice to employees when a matching gift is received. If you have questions about your matching gift contact your employer's Human Resources department.

Commonly asked questions about matching gifts:

• How do I know if my company has a matching gifts program?
  Your company's Human Resources department can tell you if they have such a program. Or you can also contact CHATS Development Department at 905.713.6596, ext. 6063 and we may be able to confirm whether or not your employer offers this benefit to you.
• What does my employer need from me before they send in a matching gift?
  Every company has their own set of requirements. The best recommendation is to speak directly to your Human Resources department. They may ask that you complete a form and mail it along with your donation to CHATS Development Department.
