CHATS Celebrates Seniors Month with Flag Raisings in Eight Municipalities
CHATS celebrated the month of June as Seniors Month, with a total of eight CHATS flag raisings. June as Seniors Month was proclaimed by the Provincial Government in 2023 when MPP Dawn Gallagher-Murphy introduced Bill 70, which was subsequently passed unanimously in the Legislative Assembly.

In June of 2024, we gathered in the municipalities of Aurora, Markham, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, and Bradford for in-person flag raisings. The CHATS Flag was also raised in the Town of Georgina, the Town of New Tecumseth, and the Town of Newmarket. Elected officials and members of the municipal communities joined CHATS staff and volunteers to celebrate seniors.
At CHATS, we feel it is important to celebrate seniors every day for their contributions to the great province we live in but especially during Seniors Month.
