CHATS-Community & Home Assistance to Seniors
CHATS-Community & Home Assistance to Seniors, is pleased to announce a partnership with Solara Health Partners to support seniors across York Region and South Simcoe through sponsored activities and events within CHATS’ Programs.
As a Community Builder Partner Sponsor, Solara Health Partners supports monthly, on-site activities and events that take place within CHATS’ programs for seniors, with a focus on advancing awareness of community-based supports that help older adults remain socially connected while aging at home. While CHATS’ Day Programs are funded in part by Ontario Health, sponsored activities such as those being provided by Solara contribute additional enhancements designed to encourage interaction, creativity, and shared experiences, that otherwise would not be affordable to provide.
For many older adults, particularly those who live alone or manage mobility or cognitive challenges, opportunities for regular social interaction can be limited. Adult Day and Wellness Programs play a vital role in supporting seniors’ overall health and wellbeing by addressing key social determinants of health, including social connection, mental stimulation, routine, and purpose.
Social isolation and loneliness among seniors have been linked to increased health risks such as depression, cognitive decline, and reduced physical health. CHATS’ Programs help mitigate these risks by providing a safe, welcoming environment where seniors can build relationships, participate in meaningful activities, and remain socially engaged. These programs also offer important reassurance and respite for caregivers, knowing their loved ones are supported in a supervised and socially enriching setting.
“Both CHATS and Solara Health Partners share the belief that every senior deserves to live a full, vibrant life,” said Christina Bisanz, CHATS’ Chief Executive Officer. “Community-based initiatives that foster social connection and emotional wellbeing are essential to helping older adults remain engaged, supported, and thriving as they age”, she added.
“When seniors are priced out of traditional senior living options, social isolation becomes a very real risk,” said Prav Jegathees, Chief Executive Officer of Solara Health Partners. “CHATS’ programs provide essential opportunities for social connection and belonging. By sponsoring activities and supporting awareness, Solara advocates for the importance and cost-effectiveness of community-based care that helps seniors age at home while remaining engaged and connected to their communities.”
Rooted in community, Solara Health Partners is honoured to support CHATS’ work by sponsoring activities that foster meaningful moments of connection for participants and highlight the importance of community-based care that enables seniors to age at home.
