June is Seniors Month: A Time to Celebrate, Recognize, and Support

Each June, the Province of Ontario proclaims Seniors Month a time to honour and celebrate the invaluable contributions of older adults in our communities. It’s also a reminder of the importance of providing the support and services that empower seniors to age well, with dignity and independence.
Why Seniors Month Matters
Seniors Month is more than a celebration it’s a call to action. With Ontario’s senior population steadily rising, it’s critical that we acknowledge the growing need for accessible, community-based care. Seniors are living longer, and they deserve to live well at home, with the right support and services in place.
That’s where CHATS comes in.
CHATS: Leading the Way in Senior Support
CHATS – Community & Home Assistance to Seniors has been a trusted not-for-profit leader in the home and community care sector for over 40 years. With programs ranging from Meals on Wheels to Assisted Living, Transportation, Wellness Programs, and Respite Care, CHATS enables more than 8,000 older adults and caregivers in York Region and South Simcoe to live safely and independently at home.
Our mission “Helping Seniors Live Well at Home” guides everything we do, and during Seniors Month, we invite our community, partners, and local leaders to celebrate with us.
