At CHATS – Community & Home Assistance to Seniors, collaboration has always been at the heart of our mission. We know that when community-based organizations work together, we amplify our impact and better serve older adults and their caregivers. That’s why we’re proud to be a member of the Ontario Community Support Association (OCSA) and a supporter of their newest initiative: CareExchange.

Who is OCSA?

The Ontario Community Support Association (OCSA) is the voice of not-for-profit home and community care in Ontario. For more than 25 years, OCSA has championed the essential services that help people live well at home—everything from Meals on Wheels to adult day programs, transportation, and supportive housing. Their work brings together over 220 not-for-profit organizations across the province, representing a vital network of care that touches thousands of lives every day.

OCSA advocates on behalf of its members, provides sector-wide training and tools, and strengthens the capacity of organizations like CHATS to deliver high-quality, person-centered care in the communities we serve.

Introducing CareExchange: A New Way to Connect

This year, OCSA launched CareExchange, a members-only Community of Practice designed to strengthen the collective impact of our sector. CareExchange is a space for staff across all levels—from volunteer coordinators to executive directors—to come together, share knowledge, and support one another in a meaningful way.

Whether it’s through webinars, shared resources, or peer-to-peer dialogue, CareExchange empowers front-line teams and leadership to connect, collaborate, and grow. It recognizes the complexity of our work, the value of our insights, and the power of learning from one another.

Why It Matters to CHATS

At CHATS, we are proud to stand alongside other OCSA members in advancing community care. Programs like CareExchange don’t just improve internal knowledge sharing—they strengthen the entire sector. As Ontario faces an aging population and growing demand for home-based care, initiatives like these ensure that we are not working in silos, but rather as a united front committed to innovation, equity, and quality care.
