At CHATS – Community & Home Assistance to Seniors, we understand that access to transportation isn’t just about mobility it’s about independence, health, and staying connected. That’s why our Community Transportation Program (iRIDE Plus) offers compassionate, door-to-door support for older adults and individuals with mobility or cognitive challenges across York Region and South Simcoe.

Whether visiting a medical clinic, CHATS Adult Day Program, running errands, or enjoying a social activity, our transportation service is tailored to help you get there and back safely and comfortably:
Local & Long‑Distance Drives: To medical appointments, grocery stores, social outings, and CHATS programs
Assisted Transitions: Drivers help with getting in and out of vehicles, mobility aids, and carrying groceries
Reliable Care Team: Rides are provided by CHATS staff, screened volunteers, and trusted community partners

Who Can Use the Service
This program supports:
Adults aged 55+ who cannot safely access public transportation
Adults 18+ with physical or cognitive challenges
Individuals who need an affordable, supportive alternative to taxis or transit
A short assessment helps us determine how we can best support your needs.

Hours & Fees
Transportation is available weekdays during daytime hours, and fees are based on distance. Subsidies may be available for eligible clients.
