CHATS held its 44^thAnnual Meeting on June 26, 2024, at the Old Town Hall in Newmarket.  

CHATS was delighted to welcome special guest and keynote speaker MP Terry Sheehan, Parliamentary Secretary to the Federal Minister of Labour and Seniors, who discussed the federal government’s priorities for seniors, the role of community support services, and the importance of supporting aging in the right place. 

CHATS welcomed new Board and Committee members and thanked the members who had retired from their positions. 

Members appointed to the Board of Directors are: Avijeet Parmar (Board Chair), Fareen Kassam (Vice-Chair), Grant Waddell (Treasurer), Directors: John Buie, Tyler Chalk, Rudi Genovese, Asmita Gillani, Han Koren, Brenda MacPherson, Jeffrey May, and Cheryl Taylor. Mary Bayliss will continue as the Past Board Chair of CHATS. 

Our retired Board Members have been an integral part of CHATS-Community & Home Assistance to Seniors, and we thank them for their many contributions and advocacy for seniors over their time with us. We said farewell to Governance Chair David Robinson and Board Member Javed Khan.
