Land Acknowledgement

Aurora, where our Head-office is located, is on the traditional territories of the Wendat, the Haudenosaunee, and the Anishinaabe peoples, whose presence here continues to this day.

We would also like to acknowledge the land we are on is at the meeting place of two treaties, the lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit and those of the First Nations of the Williams Treaty. We would thank them and other Indigenous peoples for sharing this land with us.

We would also like to acknowledge the Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation as our closest Indigenous community.

CHATS also pays special recognition to the other lands or territories belonging to Indigenous people throughout Ontario and the traditional lands and territories where individuals who connect with CHATS may be coming from.

We acknowledge this land and people because the first step to reconciliation is recognizing the existence of Indigenous people.  A shared understanding of how our collective past brought us to where we are today will help us walk together into a better future.

Support For Older Adults

Age is just a number. There’s still so much to enjoy and experience.

It’s also OK to ask for help. We can all benefit from the support of our community.

At CHATS, we host a variety of programs that are designed to help older adults unlock the benefits of exercise, mental stimulation, crafts, relaxation, entertainment, and more.

We also provide at-home services that increase at-home safety, access to healthy meals, caregiver relief, and beyond.

Support For Caregivers

Caregivers deserve time to reflect and recharge. It’s okay to ask for help and to take a break.

At CHATS, we employ certified Personal Support Workers who can provide in-home care to loved ones when you need some personal time.

Support CHATS

CHATS depends on the generosity of valued donors.

Although CHATS is partially funded by the Central Local Health Integration Network, Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, and the United Way of Toronto & York Region, the demand for increased services and programs necessitates the need for additional funding.

With your support, CHATS can continue to provide York Region and South Simcoe with leadership that delivers quality care, service, and innovation, while enhancing the independence of older adults living at home.
